About Me

Hi my name is Karen...

I have been sewing for as long as I can remember! Sitting beside my Mum with her black singer machine as she made dresses for my sister and me is a treasured memory. So it was only natural to continue the sewing tradition.... Gerty, my Gammill longarm machine arrived from the States in November 2006 - a huge beast of a machine which refused to go up the stairs into my studio without removing the bannisters!

My only way to justify such a huge purchase was to begin to quilt for others and I haven't looked back since!! I am very lucky to be part of the creative process of making a quilt and have met so many lovely people with the same obsession as me!

With January 2011 came the next development, the purchase of a Statler Stitcher computer aided pattern stitcher. Wow ! now I can combine my free hand quilting with computer assisted patterns. The results are amazing.

If you are ready to move onto your next project...have a look at the patterns and services I can offer on 'my shop' page to help you finish your current project or visit me at my studio...you will be made very welcome.

I am obsessed with fabric and I have now turned my dinning room into a fabric store and cutting room.

Customers often visit to drop off their quilt tops and have a rummage around in my  fabric 'stock'.

Give me a ring if you want to visit. I am based in Reading, Berkshire, UK - near junction 12 on the M4 motorway.
